The office finale6/29/2023 ![]() But the bad outweighed the good by a lot. It was even nice to briefly see Michael Scott again. Some of the conclusions were satisfying, like Stanley finally retiring, and Ryan and Kelly continuing to be idiots. I groaned loudly when Erin met both of her real parents, when Meredith was revealed to have a PhD, and when Andy meet his legion of fans. ![]() And the writers felt the need to give every single character a happy ending and it was painfully obvious and forced. Jim and Pam's complications and resolutions feel artificial (they have for the past couple seasons). I never bought Dwight and Angela as a "perfect couple" and their sweetness felt weird and out of character. Everybody's story worked out too perfectly. The finale, and the episodes leading up to it, have been painfully sappy and oversweet. It was the accumulation of everything I hated about the show since Steve Carell left. I've been following The Office since the beginning but I could not stand that finale. Here's my review of the finale, please let me know what you think (respectfully, of course). I have a hard time believing I'm the only one who didn't like the finale, or the episodes leading up to it.
